Savanna Event Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal data. This Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Questions? Email privacy@savannaevent.net.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide when you create an account, purchase tickets, or contact support — your name, email, phone number, and payment details (stored securely via our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers).
When you use the Attendee App we collect your booking history, saved events, and in-app activity to personalise your experience. When you enable biometric login, fingerprint authentication is processed entirely on your device — your biometric data is never transmitted to or stored by Savanna Event.
We automatically collect technical data such as device type, OS version, IP address, and app usage logs to diagnose issues and improve performance.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) create and manage your account; (b) process ticket purchases and issue QR-coded tickets; (c) send booking confirmations, event reminders, and essential service communications; (d) enable gate staff to validate your tickets via the Scanner App; (e) improve the platform through analysis of usage patterns.
We may send promotional communications about new features or events you might enjoy. You can opt out at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email or through your in-app notification settings.
3. Information Shared with Organisers
When you purchase a ticket to an event, the organiser receives your name, email address, and ticket type to manage their event and communicate with attendees.
Organiser access to your data is limited to events you have booked with them. Organisers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose unrelated to the event you attended.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party providers for payment processing, push notifications, and cloud infrastructure. These providers act as data processors under our instructions and are bound by data protection agreements.
We do not share your personal data with advertisers. We do not use your data to display targeted advertising on other platforms.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where legally required to retain it longer (for example, financial records required by Nigerian tax law).
Anonymised, aggregated data — such as total ticket sales by event type or city — may be retained indefinitely for product analytics.
6. Security
We implement industry-standard security including TLS encryption for data in transit, AES-256 encryption for sensitive data at rest, and cryptographic signing of QR codes to prevent forgery.
Access to user data within Savanna Event is restricted to personnel who need it to perform their role, subject to access logging and periodic review.
Despite our precautions, no internet-based system is completely secure. Use a strong, unique password and enable biometric login where possible.
7. Your Rights
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to: (a) access the personal data we hold about you; (b) correct inaccurate data; (c) request deletion of your data; (d) object to or restrict processing; (e) data portability.

8. Children’s Privacy
The Savanna Event platform is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or in-app notification at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
